C# and .NET/Windows
We have been working with .NET since it's early release to the public. C#
has been the development language of choice for us in the .NET space, but have also done
some work with VB.NET and Managed C++. Most of the work we do with .NET is with ASP.NET
with some support work creating Windows SCM applications and COM components. We have also developed
a few desktop applications using .NET and plenty of code libraries, which are available
for download from our site.
Java
We have created scores of web applications that range from on-line entertainment,
sports and real-time statistics, to e-commerce systems, to back-end servers capable of
handling thousands of users per second. Our experience with Java started with JDK1.0.2
and has not cooled off since. Whether you are creating a desktop Swing/JFC application
or a application using J2EE technologies, we can get it done for you.
C/C++
With .NET and Java taking over web application computing, finding good skills in C and C++
is very hard. Our team members have been steadily developing software in C and C++
for years on UNIX and Windows. We tend to develop console applications and system tools, and
have developed a few ActiveX controls.
X/Windows and UNIX
The principals of our team have all developed server and desktop software on many varieties
of Unix (UNICOS, AIX, IRIX, SunOS4, Solaris, Linux) using X/Windows as the windowing system.
Some of us have even used UIL to develop user interfaces that have astonished many users. Since
UIL, though, we've used various other GUI builders for X, but tend to enjoy just plain-ol' direct
calls to X/Motif. X/Athena is an option, but we tend to stay clear of window managers that don't
offer much for the user experience.
Microsoft SQL Server
We are proud of our ability to administer and tune Microsoft SQL server and its databases. Our experience
with high-traffic sites makes us a great web application development consultancy. We don't make
SQL Server administration our business venture, though, because we enjoy the software side of
the web, not technical administration. Whether your site has tens of thousands of users, or just
a trickle of users, doesn't matter to us. We always fine-tune our databases to be ready for
the maximum throughput possible.
mySQL
We use mySQL for many of our internal, simple database applications that do not need the
enterprise integrity that SQL Server offers. Some of our clients also use mySQL in their business
enterprise, and we treat their performance requirements the same as we do with SQL Server. When
you get a database solution from us, it's going to be the best you can buy.
